
FUNDAMENTAL AGILITY:
The goal of the Fundamental Agility class is to teach the dog/handler team the proper identification and execution of each piece of American Kennel Club (AKC) agility equipment, with special emphasis placed on dog safety. Coursework will not be covered in this class. Focus will be on learning the individual pieces of equipment and the proper handling techniques to get your dog to successfully perform each obstacle.
Prerequisites for enrollment in Fundamental Agility class are applicable to each dog seeking enrollment in the class:
The dog and handler must have:
1. Completed a minimum of an Advanced level class at TCKC and
2. The recommendation of at least one of the class trainers that the dog and the handler team have adequately mastered the skills included in TCKC’s Advanced level class.
OR
The dog and handler must have:
1. Completed the Companion Dog title in AKC or UKC (CD or U-CD) or
2. Completed Rally Advanced title in AKC.
OR
The dog and handler must be:
1. Evaluated by the Agility Coordinator and/or Director of Training to determine if the participant and dog can adequately perform those skills taught in TCKC’s Advanced class and is under control off-lead.
